Home renovation projects have a reputation for going wrong — and it's not undeserved. The combination of an occupied property, a complex scope of work, and a contractor who's managing multiple jobs at once is a reliable recipe for delays, cost overruns, and a finish that doesn't match what was agreed. If you've been through that before, or you're trying to avoid it, you're in the right place.

Vantix Group manages home renovations with the same programme discipline we apply to commercial fit-outs. That means a formal programme agreed before work starts, a single point of contact throughout, JCT-backed contracts, and regular progress updates. We don't disappear mid-project. We don't add costs without explanation. And we don't hand you a snagging list and walk away.

We work across the whole of the UK on renovation projects of all scales — from single-room refurbishments to whole-house renovations. We have specialist experience with period property renovation and Victorian house renovation, both of which require specific knowledge that not every contractor has.

JCT-Backed Contracts

Every project protected by a formal JCT contract.

Single Point of Contact

Listed Building Experience

We work with listed buildings and conservation areas.

What Home Renovation Problems Do You Have?

The most common renovation problem is scope creep — the project starts as a kitchen and bathroom renovation, and by the time the walls are open, there's damp, outdated wiring, and a structural issue that nobody mentioned in the original quote. These things happen. The difference between a good contractor and a bad one is how they handle it: clear communication, fair pricing, and a revised programme that keeps the project moving.

Other warning signs: a contractor who can't give you a written programme, a quote that doesn't break down the cost by trade, and a builder who seems reluctant to put anything in writing. In an occupied property, the stakes are higher — you're living in the middle of the project, and delays have a direct impact on your daily life.

Period and Victorian properties add another layer of complexity. Lime mortar, original features, and the structural characteristics of older buildings require specific knowledge and specific materials. Using the wrong approach — modern cement render on a lime mortar wall, for example — can cause long-term damage that's expensive to fix. We know how to work with older buildings, and we don't cut corners on materials or method.

Our Home Renovation Services

Whole house renovation is the most complex type of residential project we manage — it typically involves rewiring, replumbing, new kitchen and bathrooms, structural alterations, and full redecoration, all within a property that may be occupied or may need to be vacated for the duration. We plan these projects carefully, phasing the work to minimise disruption and keep the programme on track.

Kitchen renovation and design, and bathroom renovation and design, are the most common single-room projects we take on. Both involve a combination of structural work, M&E, tiling, joinery, and fitting — and both benefit from having a single contractor who manages all the trades rather than the client trying to coordinate them separately.

Open-plan living conversions — typically removing a wall between a kitchen and a dining room or living room — require structural assessment, steelwork, and careful coordination of the M&E that runs through the wall being removed. We handle the structural design coordination, the building regulations application, and the build itself. For listed buildings, we have experience obtaining listed building consent and working within the constraints it imposes.

Home Renovations Across the UK

We work across the whole of the UK on home renovation projects. We travel to you, we plan mobilisation as part of the project programme, and we price it honestly. Whether your property is in a city, a market town, or a rural area, you get the same team and the same standard of delivery.

UK renovation projects come with regional variation in planning requirements, conservation area designations, and listed building constraints. We research the planning position for your specific property before the project starts, so there are no surprises mid-build. You can see examples of our completed renovation work on our projects page.

Why Choose Vantix Group for Your Home Renovation?

Every Vantix Group renovation project is backed by a JCT contract, full public liability and professional indemnity insurance, and a formal programme agreed before work starts. You get a single point of contact throughout — the same person who takes your brief is accountable for the handover.

We price transparently. Our quotes are detailed and fixed where the scope is fixed. We don't use low initial quotes to win work and then recover margin through variations. If something changes on site — and in renovation work, it sometimes does — you hear about it immediately, with a clear explanation and a fair cost.
